Darrel is an OWH member who transitioned 09/15/2009 from internal organ failure - illness not uncommon among homeless. He was a leader in the homeless community who had a clear understanding of root causes from experience. 4 million families have lost their homes during the financial crisis with 10% of homelessness coming from foreclosure. There are 24 vacant homes for every homeless person in America. Here, Operation Welcome Home in the Take Back the Land movement stand visit Bank of America to protest and make demands for specific foreclosed and vacant homes to be turned back over to those in need.
